The other day I wasn't feeling well, so I was laying low and not playing as much as I usually do with Melly. She desperately wanted to play, and my heart broke as I rested trying to play from lying down on the couch. There were 2 things she said that really tugged at my heartstrings. The first, was, "Mommy, please play with me so you can feel better". She definitely understood that I was sick, and it really upset her to see me that way so she kept coming up with ideas that she thought would make me not sick.
The other thing she said was while she was sitting with me on the couch right before nap. She was hugging me, she pulled away a little bit to look in my eyes and said, "Mommy, you my best friend!"
